ATLANTIC CANADA WATER AND WASTEWATER ASSOCIATION


On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, Mayor Bob Hobbs attended the ACWWA Annual Conference in St. John’s were he accepted the 2015 Small Utility Award.  This award was presented to the Town for Project of the Year - Engineering Award/Environmental Award  for outstanding projects in Atlantic Canada that demonstrate innovation and state-of-the-art technology in water or wastewater projects. ---                 “Bishop’s Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant” 






BEST GARDEN REWARD PROGRAM


Congratulations to the winners of the first Annual Best Garden Reward Program.  Pictured below are:  1st place winner Viola Gallant and 2nd place winner Elsie Cook.  Both ladies were presented with a certificate and prize money by Councillor Bryan King, Chair Community Relations Standing Committee and Bob Hobbs, Mayor on October 20th, 2015. ( Margaret Patterson and Karen Cooke were unavailable to accept their awards).

The Town of Bishop’s Falls would like to advise all residents that effective Friday, May 1, 2015, an after hours URGENT call service will be implemented.  To access this service, please call (709) 258-6037 after 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, Weekends and Statutory Holidays







IMPORTANT NOTICE


Please be advised that Effective Immediately, Central Newfoundland Waste Management will no longer collect Black or Green garbage bags.  All garbage and recyclables MUST BE PLACED IN THE APPROPRIATE CLEAR OR BLUE BAGS





COMPOST BINS


Composting is a cheap and easy way to turn almost half of your garbage into plant food!  Compost Bins are now available for purchase at the Town Office for a Total Cost of $25.00
